When you’re a hot commodity & strapped for time, there’s nothing worse than needing to look bomb for a meeting or date with 3-day-old, lifeless hair. Enter the simple up-do. We can hear you screaming ‘simple!?!?’… yes huns, you’ve got this. You don’t have to be a celebrity stylist, hair nerd or even mildly skilled to pull these off – just grab some bobby pins, a hair tie and some product support to pull it all together.
LOOK 1 | The Messy Bun
Too glam to give a damn.
Step 1.
Start with your 3-day old hair. This can be either waved or straight!
Step 2.
Pull your hair back into a low ponytail, keeping some of your front pieces out. Secure with a hair tie. Don’t be pedantic about this! Just chuck it back; the messier the better.
Step 4.
Loosely wrap your twisted ends around the base of the ponytail and start to form a bun. Keyword in this is loosely! This will add texture and look more effortless. As you do this, start to secure the bun with bobby pins.
LOOK 2 | The Sleek Bun
Sophisticated Chic with some TLC
Step 1.
Start with slightly damp hair. You can wet your locks down with a spray bottle or even just some water from the tap!
Step 3.
Keeping a middle part, or side part if you like, brush your hair back into a low ponytail using either a tangle-teaser or comb (this will help you glide through with ease). Then secure with a hair-tie.
Step 4.
Twist your ends tightly and start wrapping them around the base of your ponytail to form a bun – securing with bobby pins as you go.
Step 5.
To finish, work more treatment through the top and sides of your head to really sleek it all back. VOILA, you’re ready to make moves!
